I can’t speak to your specific scenario as I don’t live in NY nor do I travel there. But in the few cities I have been that had Uber it was great. Great service, clean cars and they got me to and from where I needed to go quickly and efficiently.
Uber doesn’t stop any argument about regulation. Apps like Uber, if anything, get people very talkative about said “regulation,” even if they were designed to evade it.
my only counterpoint is that the wealthier tend to be early adopters and make it cheaper for the followers, and so far, I like my smart phone, internet, airplane rides, car, TV, etc.
