Yah I was really confused by this article. I work in a non-profit hospital system and at least one doctor has been using the da Vinci for years in his gynecological procedures. Just because one type of hospital is now using it doesn’t really make it news.
The da Vinci has been used a lot for prostate operations. I may be misremembering the study but I was under the impression that outcomes weren’t wildly better than old fashioned techniques.
