They’re old archives at this point, but Z31Performance.com and Z31.com still have some decent information, how-to guides, and even link some still-active affiliate sites that can be useful.

No.

+1 for Takeya. I have two of theirs for iced tea: one at home and one at work. Solid choice for the price.

No kids, but we’re still working on-site at our jobs. Weekdays will probably be similar to what they’ve been since late February: stick around the house, cook, walk the dog, etc. I’ve got a backlog of ebooks, Animal Crossing, and some small household projects to work on during that downtime.

Someone needs to tell Typhoid Mary to take it home. That’s disgusting.

Upside of economic downturn: variable credit card APRs have nearly bottomed out.

No mention of gas station loyalty programs? That’s where I tend to find the most savings for elements outside of my control.

As one of the local liquor store billboards said, “A gathering of people is called a ‘no thanks’.”

Yay... more plastic.

Yes! I started noticing this about the time we started renting: probably due to cheap grade paint. Door handles, surrounding areas, and edges get nasty grimy in a short time - especially those around the kitchen & garage. Light switches are another that get dirty. I clean them about every 6 months or so.

Our favorite wing place temporarily closed during the pandemic, so we’ve been grilling wings a lot recently. Jumbo shrimp goes perfectly with them: thaw/marinade beforehand, toss a few on, peel & enjoy. Yum!

This is a task that I dread. It has been lurking in the back of my mind for some time. I rent and haven’t done more than occasionally wiping down the inside of the oven in the nearly six years I’ve lived in the house. I’m pretty the sure previous occupant (the owner) didn’t clean the oven either. So you can imagine

My SO and I are still working onsite at our different jobs, so our spending vs savings will likely differ from those at home.

Oooh. I’ve had my eye on a new mandoline. My husband and I have both been “bitten” by the cheap plastic/metal one a relative passed down to us: sloppy and inefficient piece that it is. That little cut on the palm takes forever to heal and leaves a nice scar, by the way.

It’s an up-front expense and won’t save you money in the short-term, but changing out to LED bulbs can help to reduce electric bills as well: ours dropped by 1/3 after switching from incandescent. But that wasn’t the biggest part of it. Aside from the improvement in lighting (from the dull bulbs that were originally

If I could recreate our local Thai-fusion place’s “fried tofu” in their coconut soup, I would be in heaven. Spot on texture, flavor, and consistency. Drool-worthy in my books.

I’m still working onsite, so no schedule disruption for my dog. However, on weekdays that I’ve been home in the past, her routine is the same until late morning: go outside, eat, go back to sleep.

+1 for Ticket to Ride. Even the Junior version with kids is a blast. And I believe both fall under Target’s current B2G1 Free that was mentioned in a recent Kinja Deals article.

Pretty neat find. My state, like several, was behind the curve on testing. They originally limited COVID tests to individuals that had been out of country, over the age of 60, and/or passed the original screening. I live in a college town, so I guess the surrounding metro has had to change those rules with all the

I noticed a tab for “Coronavirus” on my phone’s default weather app as well. Weather.com, I believe.
