So stay in bed, don’t go to work, and spend the day reading or playing video games? I’m in.

$10k or less. But that 4L30E is a ticking time bomb on its own. Towing another vehicle with that short wheel base (if you can find a proper hitch setup) would not be fun or recommended: they also tend to develop an issue with overheating under load. And we won’t discuss the process of finding replacement body panels…
1. Most importantly: make more time to play games. My goal last year was to read more books and I accomplished that - so now I feel like I can balance that free time between books and games.
Re: Cast iron cookware
This is going to sound like an oddball suggestion, but you could also check with local big restaurants and/or cafeterias to see if they will be retiring or upgrading their mixers in the near future. They may be willing to sell the leftover mixers for cheap and/or give one away.
My father-in-law felt the same way about politics: didn’t vote for anything in his 60+ years because he felt it wouldn’t change anything or affected him directly. Then a recently elected state politician pushed through legislation that caused him to lose his Medicaid coverage via disability.
This is hitting home right now. My husband switched jobs a few months ago and we lost our dental insurance as a result. We previously had a $1000 (per individual) dental benefit plan through Delta Dental and made good use of it. I’ve looked into signing up for it again as individuals and the price isn’t bad: currently…
Magna-tiles are on my 4 yr old nieces’ list this Christmas and we’re happy to oblige. It’s neat to see what kids’ imaginations can make out of materials like that.
I’m fortunate to live in an eco-conscious city that has both curbside pickup and multiple recycling drop-off points for residents. So cardboard and the standard materials are covered: aluminum cans, steel cans, glass jars & bottles, #1-2 plastics.
On my husband’s side of the family, the four year olds are the only ones getting presents for Christmas. After a few years of essentially exchanging money/gift cards/etc between adults, we decided it would be less of a burden of expense on everyone if we didn’t exchange gifts and just focused on the kids. I don’t know…
My sister-in-law and I discussed this one day. Toys for babies/toddlers and dogs aren’t that different. We laughed at the idea of buying a puzzle ball treat dispenser like I have for my dog for her 2-year old twins: stuff some cereal or other small snacks in there, make sure it’s on a clean surface, and let it occupy…
I need to cancel my Amazon subscription... probably will next month after I order a few things. I try my best to source items elsewhere: locally, other retailers, eBay, etc. But some things just aren’t as easy to find as on Amazon.
I’m not defending WalMart by any means, but a lot of sales/retail positions don’t offer holiday pay. I worked for 15+ years in retail, full-time even, and never got a single day of holiday pay.
And yet we continue to allow these elected officials that have no formal education or training on the subject attempt to regulate such medical procedures. <- the real problem.
I don’t drink coffee: problem solved. I make iced tea at work daily and after the costs of an electric kettle, flash chiller, and tea refills (1lb bag every 2-3 months), it comes out to $1.88/day.
+1 for early 6th gen Camaro SS. Before the ugly new front end came along. Ample power to “hoon”, makes noise (especially with the exhaust valve set to Track), and has decent/comfortable suspenion.
Edit: Dammit, LH. I just saw this was a recycled article from 2014.
My insurance does similar for “voluntary” immunizations and prescriptions: I pay up front and get reimbursed by them via claim. I find it ridiculous and inconvenient - especially considering they can’t sort out my useless online account.
What about the dog? She always comes to me for pets when I get home and inadvertently receives a solid zap on the nose when I reach for her. I blame her, of course. ;)
Game consoles, games, movies, etc have been my Cyber Monday deals in the past. Small appliances have been pretty solid too: I’ve got my eye on the Ninja Foodi Oven this year.
