@Ramen Junkie: In my case, I had bought vinyl or tape and couldn't replace it by buying new - the record companies didn't make it available, and I had both paid for it previously and was perhaps even willing to pay again.

Wow, human civilization is 6000 years old and evolution takes at least 10000 years for any major changes. What a surprise to learn that we're built to run barefoot on grass.
