The list is all fine and dandy, if lacking in certain software that was ignored.

@wwilsonxp: Just because something is better doesn't mean people will use it.

@thisisasignin: Not to be smarmy, but have you never done this before?

The inability to remove unwanted program names from the "Open with" list is one of the biggest pains in the behind about windoze. There aren't just programs I don't use, there are programs I don't even want other people to use, and moreover I don't even want to see their names, i.e. IE.

Gee, is maximizing a window that difficult? Or minimizing/closing all the other ones?

@fritzk3: Try K-Meleon as a portable browser.

If you're looking for a reliable hosting service, knowing your favorite site's host would be a need. Otherwise, I can't see a reason why I would want to know on an everyday basis, though maybe someone else is nosy enough to want to know.

I don't use this, but much of Freebyte's stuff is worthwhile.

Why carry anything more than cash in your wallet? I keep my ID, bank card and the like in a card holder, separate from my wallet, with a $10 tucked in for emergencies. A few unimportant cards kept in the wallet (e.g. plastic calendar) make it appear that the wallet is my primary item, rather than being my secondary.

You don't need a big research firm to notice a slowdown a certain times of the day and week on internet that comes through the TV cable. Bandwidth has a maximum limit, and the more users there are, the worse it gets. I gave up trying to use it between 7PM and 10PM on weeknights because of slowdowns.

Once again, Firefox needs an extension to do what Opera already has built in.

What if you're so depressed you don't have the motivation to build it?

The only books I keep around in paper form anymore are reference and working materials - things where you need information quickly and portably. Otherwise, mobility in moving city to city is important for me.

I have never understood why the Robertson (usually found only in Canada) did not become the standard. Probably due to the US's view of foreign-made things, regardless of whether they're better or not.

I hate the fact that the computer is becoming an appliance, and that people buy it without knowing or bothering to learn anything about how it works. I'm no tech guru, yet I can solve all of my own hardware and software issues, even with new hardware.

Just what the internet needs, another goddamned site that annoys a specific group of people by targeting them with advertisements that other users don't have to endure. It was bad enough when youtube was doing it, but now google?
