My take on this kind of stuff is that the show is meant to take place in a heightened stylized reality.

And how the hell are they going to pay for it? People will probably say scholarships or Financial AID or something but I’m pretty sure an expensive private dance school wouldn’t have those things
Since I think Ryan Murphy is a misogynist who doesn’t realize he is one (see how ridiculous and pathetic nearly every one of his female characters are including Patty), I had low expectations for this show. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful it was and well-drawn most of the characters are. I will…
You’re missing the word “While” from that quote.
Sigh. I liked “Solo”. I mean, sure, the poor guy doesn’t have the raw charisma of Harrison Ford... But who the hell does, really? I mean, he’s in a pretty rare echelon of stars for the ages. I can forgive that.
Especially since, other than that, it was pretty damn fun. Lots of good action setpieces, and hell,as a kid…
No, I’m saying that as an objective fact.
Exactly. I was a bit surprised that Blanca didn’t hand it in for him, in the first place. But then again this is a show where apparently no one cared that historic clothing from one of the most famous and, presumably, heavy with security, museums in the world were stolen and then worn (and didn’t fall apart?) because…
Yeah, that’s why they call it subjectivity!
My wife and I are going to see Solo on Wednesday-so Disney can look forward to adding to the total box office this week!
Solo was good, you clowns! Solo was good! It was a low-stakes outlaws in space movie with a likable cast, it had a lot of heart, it had some gorgeous action set-pieces, the universe felt lived in, the worlds were interesting to look at, it had puppet aliens and good CGI, it had Donald Glover as fuckin’ Lando…
That’s means we’re about six month away from “How the Fuck Did We All Misjudge Solo So Badly?” think-pieces.
“At first I didn’t want to take over directing Solo, but when Disney’s executives activated my restraining bolt, I just knew I had to get on board!” R-0N Howard
Solo’s box office failure is a disappointment because I feel as though it’s closer to what the spinoff films should be (as opposed to Rogue One). I like that while it takes place in a familiar universe with (some) familiar characters, it’s not a familiar story. More plots that exist outside of the trilogies’ timeline…
I’ve just been having an argument with some of these idiots who ‘boycotted’ Solo on another site. It really makes no sense to me especially, as Katie says, all these MRA-types are protesting about the franchise reboot’s supposed SJW agenda by boycotting a film with a straight white male lead.
Someone at Disney: “Bob, could you push that giant pile of money aside for a sec and see if there’s a box of Kleenex underneath it? I’ve been crying over Solo’s box office all morning and I’d like to blow my nose, even though we’re all literally surrounded by giant piles of money.”
I found it more enjoyable than TLJ. My one criticism for Solo was not enough Therm Scissorpunch!!!
I’ve been reading it since 98 and it’s alarming to see how they won’t honestly review something as long as it’s “right”.
As someone who is constantly skeptical of Murphy productions (I should say Murphy/Falchuk productions as Brad seems to be the person who is always involved and never gets credit or called out on), I agree that the extended episode never felt overstuffed. I really enjoyed it—although the final moments seemed like BS to…
Kayla has been cancer to the TV club since she started. Laughable compared to the old reviewers on this site. She only exists to sound like a ditzy BuzzFeed contributor and talk about the L Word as if it wasn’t a shitty soap opera.
Riiiight. I’m sure Kayla gave this Ran Murphy show an A for quality and not purely based on the BuzzFeed representation narrative a BuzzFeed twenty something who spends 24/7 on Twitter sanctimony bubbles like Kayla die for as tools to appear extra woke for their colleagues. Queerness is two self identifying members of…
