Understandable. I’ve been on a PAP for about six years now. I started with a ResMed CPAP, and last fall, got put on the newest ResMed APAP. Both have helped me a lot. Also, I use the nose pillows instead of a full mask, which I find much more comfortable. Have you given that type of mask a try?

Do yourself a favor and go see a pulmonologist. They can put you on a CPAP (or APAP). It will let you get a good night’s sleep.
