ALWAYS ask them if they have redundancies in place for equipment failure. They need to have backup lenses, lights, camera bodies, cables, everything...and PLENTY of batteries. An assistant isn’t a bad idea, either.

Most photographers will tell you before they use a photo of you in an ad. Do expect some photos to become part of a blog post or portfolio update, though.
