That’s where you and I disagree, I know plenty of women in the industry and out who LOVE these hardcore games supposedly aimed at men. If a good game is made, it will appeal to people who like good games, period.

Sometimes a game is only gendered because fan perception makes it, not because that’s necessarily true.

Your statistics prove that games, historically, haven’t been inclusive to women. But that’s changing, and it’s doing so at a far more rapid pace than I feel you’d admit.

It’s not about an industry infiltrated, it’s about a lot of the industry actually wanting to be inclusive and actually, mostly agreeing with a lot of what ‘sjw’ ‘s are asking for.

Probably outsourcers to be honest, the AD in charge of this scene should have caught it but when large chunks of environments are outsourced it’s not hard to see something like this happening.

Most likely an error on outsourcing, the directors should have caught it but I find it hard to believe any employee at ND proper would do this.

I’m almost positive it was outsourcing. None of the concept or environment artists at Naughty Dog proper would have thought to get away with this.

Technically, they did, but that didn’t stop them from rewriting historical textbooks, refuting their own citizens war testimonials, and putting false information in national history museums in Japan. So yeah, they did technically apologize, but their actions paint a different picture.

I think it’s natural to be horrified by the age as well, our cultural morals have definitely changed etc, but that doesn’t mean we have to give a pass on reprehensible behavior from the past.

I find it kind of gauche to talk about cost in such an emotionally burdened topic. Especially since we as Americans DO have relationship with the Asian theater of WW2, a lot of our soldiers saw firsthand the cruelty and devastation the Japanese army left Asia in.

It was quite a culture shock for me moving to SF from Minnesota, I would definitely hazard a guess that the Asian populations is at around 50% (don’t quote me on that I don’t know the real statistic.)

Japan is very adept at rewriting their own history, while I do agree that moving forward requires forgiveness as well, a lot of Japanese nationals are hellbent on rewriting history to make it seem as if these things never happened, or they were forced to take those actions.

I’m assuming they had a base before Pearl Harbor. Quite possibly the same pilots, it probably didn’t stop after Pearl Harbor either, Japan didn’t have a shortage of pilots or military.

I kinda feel like it woulda been fine if just some of the crew/makeup artists were african without waving tribalism/stereotypes in our faces.

I feel like if they used Africans as tribal, stereotyped background people, that would be pretty bad, but honestly if they just switched out some of the crew/makeup artists/other normally dressed black people in the crowd, it would not have been a bad thing.
