My body gave up trying to make milk three months after my kid was born, and the nurses at my kiddos first pediatrician gave me the worst freaking guilt trip. I was told by a different person that I was “literally feeding him antifreeze”.

My heart goes out to Ashley Tisdale- I had to switch to formula (a whole bunch of reasons that I don’t have the time nor desire to rehash), and you would not believe the reaction (unless you’ve lived it).

The best advice I was given when struggling to breast feed my children and resisting formula because of mom guilt/societal pressure was “do you want to feed your baby stress?” - of course not, so mix a bottle and get on with in. 

I am so glad that social media wasn’t yet a mainstream thing when I dated people prior to my now-wife. I would most definitely be tempted to check theirs from time to time.

I think we overestimate how much cultural knowledge kids have at 13-14. In some ways and in some subjects they may have great sensitivity and depth of knowledge, but in other ways they’re still completely products of their environment and they can’t know what they don’t know.

The fact that everybody ripped off the mask and stopped caring about everything else the second they had gotten vaccinated is just depressing. I’m fully vaxxed, and I’m gonna keep wearing the mask and keeping my distance until I’m not allowed to anymore. I don’t think it’s a big ask when people’s lives are on the line.

I mean, official news outlets here in the Netherlands are saying that Kate and William have been ordered to spend more time in Scotland so they can stop Scottish from trying to secede from England, which is some medieval shit, so I wouldn’t say boring per se.
