But hey we got an All powerful New Girl Boss who can kick everyone’s ass including Capt Marvel ,so yeah !

My point is that bringing in Kirk over and over is unnecessary and makes it seem like the showrunner doesn’t think that the show can stand on its own without prominently featuring characters who appeared TOS but didn’t have a previous direct connection to Pike or the pre-Kirk Enterprise. Plus, IIRC in “The Menagerie”

It should be noted that part of the reason that we have less Pike this season is that Anson Mount and his wife had a child a little over a month before filming began. I think he requested less time on set (which he was granted).

I found this to be a solid, okay - but not remarkable - episode for a couple of reasons.

T’Pril to Spock: You are a huge disappointment.

I appreciate that SNW isn’t for you, and that’s totally fair. I even agree with you somewhat about your concerns regarding Chapel’s character. And I’m being a bit tongue-in-cheek here...but if you think Star Trek has never been about characters being horny for each other, then I question whether you ever watched any

I really loved the moment, late in the episode, when Mount is bring a tray of something or other over the others, and something else happens that clearly raises the tension in the room, and he silently adjusts his course and ends up just looping back to his kitchen.

F off Miller. F off.

This is a pretty good summary. The only thing I would add is that Disney paid for a lot of municipal services in addition to their privately owned ones. Their fire department is small. They don’t have a hospital, courts, or prison. So they paid Orange and Osceola counties a retainer for things like backup fire support

DeSantis is a clown, I hope most people see through him. Disney did change the rules of their district at the last minute that limited it's power, and having visited Disney last week, I can say it doesn't seem to impact the company's day to day in Central Florida. They still run the place. Everything is still under

Maybe you could spend time on the higher end of the empathy spectrum fuckknuckle.

Yeah, paying money to see a flick I’m really excited about & having to deal with talkers & gormless dolts on their phones *every time* is SO much fun.

Too bad about Beetz, she stole the show in Deadpool 2.  Was in charge of every scene she was in.

I’m all for this, but can we keep that same energy for confederates and confederate cosplayers? Given that there is a definite line connecting their ideology to nazisim

It’s not that Mel was controversial, is that’s the writing in that era was total shite. Bonnie Langford is a fantastic actor and given the opportunity she’ll be great returning to the show.

And wow is it strange to not be the only person on Gizmodo talking about Big Finish. It’s almost as strange as having Doctor Who

It’s not a rule, but it’s a lot harder to take away something good that people have than it is to deny it to them in the first place.

There’s no such thing as “common ground” with a fascist death cult. Only one political party has gotten more extreme and this holier than thou “both sides” nonsense just aids in moving the Overton window.

I don’t either. TFG got elected when all he wanted to do was harass Hillary.

Sovereign Citizens and related movements don’t so much scream “mentally ill” as they scream “Nobody can tell me what to do”.
