The problem with high end watches is that they dont become obsolete or degrade in a year.

I upped my pledge for the steel version. The ONE thing I objected to about the pebble time was it's somewhat "barbie accessory" look. I've gotten very used to my steel, and was sorry to see that look go.

The main wrinkle is that Pebble doesn't plan to produce smartbands itself: it's opening that up to the maker community and accessory manufacturers.

It's not e-ink. It never was e-ink. E-paper was the term they used to describe an updated LCD. The Pebble's display is a modern Game Boy. The Time's display is a modern Game Boy Color.

(Both of which had freakin' phenomenal battery life, so this isn't a dig against them, but the misinformation gives them this air…

I'm on the beta track for Pebble software so I've been using this for a few weeks, and it's incredible. I'm actually bummed for iPhone Pebblers for missing out, since this transforms the Pebble into a brand new product.
