Central America is most certainly a hotbed right now, but Honduras has been a hotbed since the Cold War first started.

I think the difference is that you won’t get shot for requesting clean water. I used to live in Michigan and used to denounce this issue all the time, and wasn’t shot once though I’m clearly multiracial.

Thank you for answering - it’s probably because this is the group of Hondurans not eligible for DACA, and the country behind most of the sweatshops produced in the US. We never expected clean water. Ever since the 80s we knew were your backwater territory. But at least you were meant to make an international appearance of cleaning shop. The problem, I think, is that this is simultaneously a very US situation - in that the US kind of enabled it - and a non-US situation, in that the president is a narco-trafficker.

We are, but I would be quickly shot. I’m a recognizable figure, and if the articles for insurrection has been written off due to US terrorism laws (which they have been), what’s a person with a unique accent and face to do?
