This, among other reasons, is why I bought a Vive. It’s an amazing platform, and I don’t have to worry about Valve being gigantic penises about games running on the thing.

This is basically a TV on your face. You need a separate PC to be able to use it. This is like not being able to play Xbox on a Sony brand TV.
I was all hyped up about the rift, then they took years to bring it out. They waited so long that other companies were able to develop superior products while starting from scratch.

LMAO does the Occulus team REALLY not see that this will cut off their feet? They are in a sea of competition and they can’t afford to restrict themselves in such a way especially when it’s somewhat offensive to the gaming community.
Is anybody seriously surprised by this? Once Facebook bought Oculus, it was inevitable that it would turn into a heavily restricted, bloated device that you couldn’t do what you wanted with. It’s standard industry doctrine that the best way to remain on top isn’t by being the best, it’s by crushing all competition…
