Oh, if there is anything that hints at danger I’m going back to my lawyer, will tell my dad, will live with some friends he doesn’t know, go to the police--everyone and everything. If I end up dismembered it will be no secret who killed and cut me up.

It would not make anything better. Since he just contacted me this week I am completely in fight-or-flight mode, but also pretty sure he is on the left coast. I’m volunteering tomorrow and have been in regular contact with supportive people all week. If I respond, in any way, I feel like I’m letting him hijack my life

Oh--my PI, my LAWYER, and a half-dozen police all suggested they ‘knew someone’ who could pay my particular guy a visit. (And my dad, but that was, at least, a personal suggestion.) This is a guy who not only beat me but put in writing how he fantasized about killing me (after stapling my face to a wall and

He will never get the whole order of protection thing. A chat with the police will not make any difference. (Filed too many police reports in my time.)

When getting a restraining order from my ex, the second question--after asking if we had kids--was if we owned any pets together. Abusers often just escalate. I’m glad you left.

I’m going to go ahead and disagree—is he took down her license plate, it would have been easy to find her. (I speak from stalker experience! He somehow found my building, still don’t know how.) I think returning to the store where she would be around other people would have been safer, though I very much understand

On the guy? I would have returned to the store, found a guard or a lady’s bathroom, and called 911.

I had SO MUCH help when leaving. I will never be able to re-pay people for their times, food, rides, etc.

Probably money. Of all the reasons people stay with abusers: money/joint bank accounts, kids, pets.

I’m not a mom but am giving you a high five. (Also wear yoga pants all the time—I’ve convinced myself that I am more likely to work out if I put on workout clothes.)

My niece had whooping cough, got in from an un-vaccinated kid. When I spoke to my brother the only thing scarier than the fear in his voice was hearing her cough in the background.

Not really—lawyers only get so many dismissals.

Now all I can think about is Wegmans. Sigh.

I volunteer with kittens in the Chicagloand area, and in addition to a swear word amount of rain, we have the Air and Water Show this weekend. I hung out with some spooked out cats yesterday. /rain/booming jets/being driven around/they’re already strays so probably have been through some trauma in their life.

He looks like Christian Bale’s character in American Psycho.

Where did the reviewer use the word ‘malpractice’?

Oh. Well if he only pulls his gun when he’s not thinking straight, then I am totally okay with this guy having a gun in public at his age. He should get a ‘disoriented-only’ permit for his gun.

Personally, because I NEED to talk to a person I like/respect about the movie ASAP.

I didn’t say more is better. I’m a thin-ish white young-ish female and I have only had positive experiences with cops here. But the cops were not being called on me.

Chicago has pretty shit gun law/enforcement.
