This is no shock (nor is it a joke). These women love nature and want to work with people who want to see it. This harassment culture is very real and very scary and part of being an outdoorswoman. This news story and the article in the link give a glimpse of what women go through:

“As a result of the report, the Interior Department has ordered additional harassment training and prevention for supervisors.”

My wife when she was in the military had “sexual assault prevention” classes. She physically left the class in anger when the instructor and the class materials continued outdated stereotypes, victim blaming, and placing blame on everyone but the person who did it.

“ As a result of the report, the Interior Department has ordered additional harassment training and prevention for supervisors.”

For the love of God, why? I’ve been to war. There is nothing good or glorious about it. Yet Trump has to wave his dick around, which will only get a lot of good people killed. He already dropped a MOAB in the middle of a diplomatic crisis with Russia, signaling that he will go all the way up to using nuclear weapons,

I hope Jez plans on recapping this show for those of us who will never have the stomach to actually watch it. :(

Yes! I just reread it and also gave it to a young woman who lives with us. She voted for Trump and was in tears after reading it. Good. I’m glad it scared the shit out of her.

One of many things that stuck out in the novel was how the wealthy and privileged wives absolutely openly CHOSE this turn of events; how women themselves will absolutely chose to not only hold up privilege but will choose to hold up any means to hold that up, including a murderous, fascist government. So don’t feel

So this is the frontpage of Jez right now:

Also, for some strange reason, an adaptation of a Canadian Novel by a Canadian Author filmed in Toronto is not available in Canada.

I cannot wait for this show. But I’m also sure it’s going to leave me terrified for the future, just like re-reading the book did.

This photo of Bledel shows more emotion than she ever did in the entirety of Gilmore Girls.

I know in my state, children under 12 are considered a special population and do not have to testify in court. They are instead interviewed by expert witnesses, so perhaps this proposal seeks to aid children 12-17 who have to appear in court. Also, I’m guessing it could fill the gap where guardian ad litem and CASA

I appreciate your answering this. I had assumed that family would be their advocate, but I’m also worried in the case where a family member is involved in the assault.

It varies by jurisdiction - some jurisdictions already provide victims services as policy to young child victims, but that’s not standard by any means. There are a few reasons I know of as to why advocates are not favored for young kids:

One of the biggest new proposals is to provide children as young as 12 who have been assaulted with trained advocates.

This seems great! Does anyone know why a child under 12 won’t get a trained advocate though? Is the reporting process somehow different so they’re supported in another way (aside from parents advocating for their child)?

I’d feel bad about confusing O’Reilly with a journalist.

Santa is nothing because he’s fictional.
