@diablofreak: Isn't Adobe Reader on v9.1 now? The more recent versions were supposed to cut down on resource use and improve efficiency, IIRC, after a spate of blog posts telling readers to use Foxit or other alternatives.

@jeffs3rd: Yeah. Having just read through the posts, the only software issue mentioned was one case of wifi failure, on the MSI Wind.

@Samu Wade: What is a "Dropbox Guru"? I know about the 250MB bonus for referrers and referred (shameless link: [www.getdropbox.com]), but I haven't heard of "Gurus" before.

@photoben: Buy an MSDN subscription. (Though the cheapest option costs $699.)

@AndyFromTucson: My own guess is that a combination of rewards-vs-effort (for the monetary-minded hackers), and availability-of-resources (for everyone else), combines to make Windows a more attractive target.

@unruled: The site's new screenshot shows five browsers, Opera now included.

@joelena: Addressed in latest update,

@hardman.ethan: I'm so heartened that all those Windows users hold such concern for their brethren Mac and Linux users.

@dchall8: Well, I'm glad I didn't have any of those problems, then...

@nolabar10der: I've gone through significant periods (months at a time) of using each of the significant Windows browsers as my main choice; Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and even K-Meleon.

@shallnot: Google-phobia aside, what do you mean by a browser's "ecosystem"?

@DiscoZombie: That's great that OSX works well for you. However, for someone equally comfortable with either operating system, Mac hardware is still expensive, though you may feel that their quality is worth the premium. For someone who still feels more adept with Windows, though, the costs of switching to Apple are

@Panhandler: Tell us how it turns out, and good luck!

@pakk99: Fantastic, except

@pakk99: Apple has reservations because 1) GV users may prefer GV's voicemail and SMS over Apple's voicemail and SMS (suprise?), and 2) GV users will store their contacts on GV (even if we take Apple's word on this... it's paternalistic, GV users want to use GV to communicate, and Apple itself already allows you to

@pakk99: While Apple states that the Google Voice app for the iPhone has not been "rejected", would it be fair to say that it's "indefinitely not-approved"?

@jkforde: That'd be useful. I've done some research but don't really feel like installing them all to try them out. A writeup of some of the leading choices would help narrow my search a lot.

@rezzo: You could try the Chrome alpha for Mac with "—enable-plugins". I've found that enabling plugins on Linux slows down Chrome alpha significantly, but others seem to have had better luck.

@alphacoder: I'd say the user experience is compelling, and the developer experience isn't lacking either.

@Craig Cabrey: How do I get Chromium on Linux to use its native Window border?
