Isn’t this what people turned on James Franco for? Not staying in his lane? Not sure why Seth Rogen didn’t get a similar backlash, or even what the logic to that backlash was.

“Cancel culture is a myth” - people who are very happy cancel culture exists.
Excited for Twitter to be the editor of established directors’ films. It’s certainly done a great job as the editor of the New York Times.
Let’s hope for Berlin.
A part of me almost hopes that she gets forced out too, since I think that might convince some people who ridiculous this purity test for a game show hosting job is. Alternately, they’ll replace her with Ken Jennings, then he’ll step down because of a tweet he wrote 8 years ago.
Jeopardy hosts don’t write out the questions they’re reading. I continue to wonder who people think Alex Trebek was, exactly, or what his skill set was coming into this job.
Can a premise be novel if it was taken from a real-life story? Did Law and Order have “novel” premises? More of a philosophical question than anything.
Someone with a spine for the show to borrow.
He wasn’t accused of sexual harassment.
They should get an infant to host. Only someone just released from the womb would have the kind of spotless track record that’s apparently required of game show hosts.
Appreciate the conversation.
1. He said “looking back now, there is no excuse, of course, for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry.” Not sure how much “stronger” it would have to be to please anyone dead set on not being pleased by it. That seems pretty strong.
No one who starts a sentence with “I’m all for forgiveness” ever follows it up with something that indicates such. The cousin of “I have a great sense of humor, but that Family Guy joke enraged me.”
Had no opinion about Mike Richards before this, but with each passing day, want Jeopardy! to keep him in the job more and more. Because this is getting ridiculous. He said “booby pictures” 7 years ago, and that should keep him from reading trivia questions today? Just stop.
Madonna said he never hit her with a bat. We can all ease up.
Feel like this show will somehow turn into an apology for the original film. Didn’t address segregation enough, white savior, etc.
The first episode was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. The equivalent of writing a high-school essay at the last minute and trying to cram in every buzzword the student thinks should be mentioned one after the other.
Except Marcia Clark wasn’t helping write the scripts. That’s what makes me a little wary of this thing. Grafting a #MeToo lens onto something from 20 years ago.
Have we ever got a good explanation for what Matt Stone does on this show, besides the voices? It seems like every episode is written and directed by Parker.
Exactly who do you people think Alex Trebek was before getting this job?
