I used to work as a tutor at Mathnasium (I’m now a high-school geometry teacher). Each Mathnasium is a franchise, which means quality can vary from location to location. The place I worked for was more concerned about making sure that their students were having “fun” as opposed to them actually learning anything. The

I appreciated the Madball grenade.

As a child, I was terrified by Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.”

Exactly. The vaudeville format of the original Muppet Show wasn’t a contemporary idea. There’s no need to try rebooting the Muppets into an environment that’s more ‘modern’.

As long as it’s not “found footage,” I’m in! :-)

You’re not the only one. I gave up after 6 episodes when I grew bored because it felt like they kept repeating the same formula; rescue mutants, only to have rescuers get captured, rescue the rescuers, and so on . . .

I remember one time when the DM allowed me to play an intelligent sword carried by one of the other characters. Fun times.

“Legends of Tomorrow” annoys me to no end. If the “team” could just figure out how to work together without constantly sabotaging each other, they could actually get stuff done. Most of the plots hinge on them trying to fix what they f*d-up in the first place. Only the return of emo-Snart even makes this show barely

“Communion” is the movie that scared me the most. As a frequent sufferer of sleep paralysis, the imagery in the film almost perfectly matches the horrifying hallucinations I experience. Needless to say, this movie hit far too close to home for my comfort.

I, too, am sad that Hell House didn’t make the list. A bit on the campy side by today’s standards, but I remember loving the film as a kid.

Now we need to do this for cats and dogs.

I stopped listening to Bill Maher when I discovered he’s an anti-vaxxer. There’s a point when you are so far left, that you are no longer grounded in reality. (And that’s coming from me, a socialist.)

What? No Vectrex? It was unique in the fact it had vector graphics (like the arcade versions of Asteroids and Tempest). While some games were horrible, others were quite excellent (Bedlam being one of my favorites). It did suffer from flickering problems if there were too many sprites on the screen, but all-in-all

I’m guessing that they’ll match LeFou with Cogsworth (the other “gay” character).

And to be fair, not all the clips he showed were CGI. Some were just good ole’-fashioned greenscreen.

Pshaw . . . everyone knows that the I Ching is the only oracle backed up by mathematics. ;-)

I think you misunderstood what I am proposing. I’m not advocating for recreating the current state of each neuron. I’m suggesting that a computer component is added to the existing brain that can be adapted as the user needs or desires. Perhaps this cyborg component would function similar to how the organic brain

This is your brain . . . this is your brain on math . . . any questions?

A way around the continuity of consciousness problem is to employ the Ship of Theseus thought experiment. Simply replace your organic brain little by little with computer components until your “mind” has “transferred” from the organic portion to the machine part. Then you can remove your computer mind and integrate it
