There isn't any way to mess up a character. If you feel that you are struggling with a certain portion, you can work on some skills and level up your health or magic. The best part of Skyrim is that any character can enjoy the game.

My memorable fight has to be in Breath of Fire IV. It has been quite a while, but one option for the final boss is that the main character can become the final boss and fight the rest of the party! That was both heart wrenching and really interesting story wise.
