Most counties follow the rule of one major town per county. In the western states, there usually was just one major settlement and then geography would dictate a larger size of land. During the deciding of counties, many of the western states didn't really have enough people to make small counties feasible or

As people began to settle the west, more area was defined for fewer people. Most of the time those areas were very small communities that were isolated and were given HUGE swaths of land (mostly taken from native peoples).

The first time I played Overloard, it was 1 am and I was completely creeped out and enthralled all at the same time. I replayed that sequence last week and again at 1 am and was just as blown away by it.

That is a good point. I concede that the revolutionaries were not modern day terrorists.

I apologize for that. There really needs to be some sort of sarcasm font or internet protocol for that. I don't really see the need to be so sensitive about spoilers, but I can see your point of view.

That is understandable, and I can understand that. What I don't understand is "ya jerks!". Why go through all this trouble of looking at the article, going to the comments and then calling the authors a name? That isn't the gameological way.

First paragraph, last sentence: "Keep in mind, these comments are discussing significant, impactful plot points, so if you’d rather avoid that type of stuff, proceed with caution."

To be fair, they did warn you.

Terrorism is pretty much all about perspective. When I see people bring up this idea, I do point out that many of the tactics used at the time of the American Revolution were terrorist (from the British perspective) the only reason we don't consider them such is that America won (twice to make the point).

It is time for Professor Farnsworth's Question-o-Rama!

I think you did explain something that really bothered me about the books. It doesn't help that the wizards don't help at all with any of the problems in the regular world, they actively try to make it worse over time. I would love to see more about wizards who look after regular folk.

I would put it on at somewhere around 4. I like the games originality, but there is a feeling that the game was padded out with extra content that didn't need to be there. I didn't mind it too much due to the fact that I mostly played it while watching television.

Bravely Default for the 3DS is pretty good JRPG that is entirely turn based. If you haven't picked that up, it is definitely worth a try.

There is a tutorial, but I didn't really understand all of it. I would say it is pretty polished for a beta release right now. I would also say that it is definitely worth the money they are asking for it, especially since they will only make the game better.

I will be playing Darkest Dungeon. This game has a feeling of utter doom like FTL, but the attachment to your squadmates like XCOM. Plus you can have your party get so stressed in the dungeon that they develop psychological horrors like masochism, abusive comments, and hopelessness. It really is quite enthralling.

My worst choice ever was in Alpha Protocol. My first playthrough involved my Agent Thornton getting rather attached to his handler and falling head over heels in love with her. He eventually convinces her to go and help him blow the whole spy operation his is in up and what happens? She gets caught, but instead of

I am getting really, really frustrated at my graduate program. I came expecting to work hard and have some one to be a mentor. Now after the working hard bit, all I have is shitty pay, no mentor, and stress that makes me super worried all the time. It is starting to look like getting a Ph.D. will make me less

This is absolutely awesome. I love that John starts out so enthusiastic and then as time goes on he gets more and more cynical and snarky. John is definitely a great game show host. I really hope this is a regular item on the AVClub.

Mountaineering is something I think should be a better mechanic in Skyrim. I spent a lot of time climbing mountains to see epic sunrises.

That is something I get into as well. I usually hang out with my crew in the observation deck, then go explore space for quite a long while. No wonder I like Physics so much.
