I don’t think a wall is a solution, but can we at least all recognize there is a problem? I can’t help but notice you mentioning the racism of the current status quo, and how immigrant workers are taken advantage under the current status quo. It seems like your problem is with the status quo, which are the policies…
To be fair it isn’t only jobs that Americans won’t do. A surprising number of undocumented immigrants also do office jobs. But a wall isn’t going to solve that. And a wall isn’t going to stop companies from exploiting the ones already here.
I’m sorry, but that’s not true. It was all the Democrats would propose for the Democratic-led congress to debate on prior to the midterms. Obama dismissed single-payer before talks even started, and Clinton made opposition to single-payer a bedrock pledge in her primary campaign last year.
I think you touch upon an excellent point that bridges the “economic anxiety” of the white working class that we heard oh so much about post-election and the monumental amount of racism, xenophobia, and nationalism that encompassed Trump’s campaign.
Obamacare was a bad, shitty plan that bad, shitty people decided to embrace instead of something more defensible because picking up a failed Republican plan was easier actually running the winning strategy they’d need in the states to enshrine proper UHC in the constitution.
It’s the same fucking reasoning behind not voting though.
Isn’t that the State that is perpetually on fire due to droughts which are getting worse?
I want the wall. And I don’t give a fuck what some British asshole like John Oliver, who isn’t even funny in the first place, has to say about it.
My understanding is that midterms are going to be very ugly for libs. Republicans are projected to win seats.
Exactly. This was a narrative all through her campaigns.
Most of the third-party voters were conservative, looking at the result. The third-party voters voting main party would have only sunk Clinton faster.
Paul Ryan is your sole chance for a check on Trump’s irrationality. Planned Parenthood is a minute issue in the grand scheme of things.
If you ever want to see the Democratic Party win a presidential election ever again, you need to come to terms with the fact that Hillary was a shitty candidate, and that the party itself failed its constituents.
I haven’t heard a single woman say such a thing.
* lol no you didn’t
Yeah, but I don’t think we’re disagreeing. Obama’s accomplishments, as you say, have come “despite” the Democratic Party.
And if that doesn’t work, it’s time to break out the big guns: a clip from ‘Last Week Tonight’ or ‘Full Frontal’! That’ll subtly and cleverly show ‘em!
The Democratic party’s incompetence is light years away from a “myth.”
