Yes. I felt so bad for the Republicans in the final primary states who only had those choices (even if they didn’t feel bad for themselves). I think Cruz is terrifying because of what he stands for and Trump is a human dumpster fire question mark. I don’t know if I could vote for Cruz, but I could probably bring

Agreed. If somehow an Anthony Weiner got himself on the ballot, it would not be an easy decision to vote for the other party.

Trump could have easily picked to run as a Democrat. I doubt he would have won, but who knows? If it was Trump (D) vs Cruz (R), who would we vote for?

And that’s fine. Basic narrative doesn’t apply everywhere after all.

Yeah in that scenario Trump might be better because he could be manipulated to do the right thing by peppering him with compliments. Cruz is just plain evil.

The Obama bros on the Keepin’ it 1600 podcast asked this. They all said they hoped they would stand up to him, but in the end nobody could say 100% if it meant an end to everything Obama put in place. Politics is very tribalistic, and that shit is hard.

I could vote for (not support) a Rubio, Jeb Bush or Kasich. Cruz though? Maybe if he’s running against Satan, Reincarnated Hitler or Cthulhu. Maybe.

All through primaries I said I hated Cruz more. Trump may be an idiot, but he doesnt actually care about religion. Cruz seems like a zealot and I would worry about a president that religiously motivated.

Even taking pure politics out of it, I was listening to *something* (honestly can’t remember) the other day, and the speaker was talking about what if in, say, 2020 the Dems actually nominated Kanye. I mean, he makes interesting music, but he’s wholly unqualified to be president of the united states, right? would

But this does not solely afflict whites or males. I have recently become acquainted with someone who is black, male and gay who holds some of the most scary left views. He is deeply anti-democratic and believes in authoritarian solutions (at least this is what he says) to what he believes ails the country. When I

Rubio, probably could live with. But Cruz...I always come back to one of my favorite quotes about him from Lindsey Graham: “if you murdered Ted Cruz in the floor of the Senate, and the trial was held in the senate, no one would convict you.”

Excellent point.

“Would I really be able to bring myself to vote for Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz?”

Seriously. The Republicans could probably have taken this (and maybe the previous two) elections if they could just put forward a halfway decent candidate. That they can’t speaks volumes about the state of their party.

As a lifelong Dem, I’ve been trying to imagine what it would be like if some nutbar had the Democratic nomination. Would I really be able to bring myself to vote for Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz? Navarro seems like a smart, principled lady, and though I imagine she and I would disagree on a lot of policy, I am giving her

This is basically the narrative of this election. Trump is the worst, so vote for the other gal.

You ass, now I have to clean cola off my keyboard.

My guess is this will do little to impact the race. The damage has been done.

This is a very weird story and I don’t know how to feel about it because

I find this incredibly sad and troubling. If she really was raped, it’s really sad that she decided not to go forward with it. If this whole thing is made up, that is equally sad because there are probably actual girls and women out there who were raped by at least one or both of these men and this will damage those
