Nobody is offering him sex.
Did you miss the whole Susan Boyle zeitgeist?
Had a long conversation with two military guys last night (one is a Johnson supporter). They REALLY did not like the email scandal, and it seemed very personal to them. They were pretty upset that I was not bothered by it all that much.
While I disagree with her about this, I still think she’s a boss. What matters is that she defends his right to do so. Moreover, if RBG is against something, rather than dismiss her out of hand, I respect her enough to give pause and consider how she’s framed her argument, since she has spent a lifetime championing a…
“And here I was thinking these athletes have played a pretty significant role in reigniting an important national discussion...”
“I’m an independent” usually means “my friends are appalled when I tell them I voted Republican.”
No matter which of them ‘wins’ America loses.
I agree but there is a reason why we are entitled to privacy in the voting booth. It prevents retaliation at work, at school or socially. While someone standing up and supporting their candidate is a good thing, not everyone is able to for various reasons.
Yes! There’s a whole political science book on this that just came out (Independent Politics by Klar and Krupnikov). Basically it argues that it is socially undesirable to be percieved as partisan (both because of attitudes about the parties, political conflict, etc., and because of the media’s adulation of…
Lying about how you’re gonna vote is just to make someone else feel better. Fuck that noise! If other people are all upset because you’re undecided, that’s on them. They have their vote and you have yours.
Undecided voters are, by definition, more likely to lean towards Trump.
My firm belief is that at this point anyone “undecided” is a Trump voter that is too embarrassed to say it out loud.
From my vast experience (Nearly my entire immediate and extended family is rabidly republican and I live in a heavily republican area), a lot of people who think Trump is a piece of shit but find it completely impossible to vote for a Clinton are clinging to the excuse of Supreme Court nominees as a reason to go ahead…
“good on race and justice”
Eh, I know I probably shouldn’t but I tend to give people who lived through WW2 a little bit of leeway on being stupid about this sort of thing.
I’m sure the second happens. Being undecided also lets you criticize both candidates/parties without having to take any responsibility for voting for either.
I totally agree. But, that may explain some people’s reticence to commit. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter because, in the booth, you can vote for whoever you’d like.
eh, come on, she’s essentially just arguing that he could make his argument in a more persuasive manner that won’t immediately alienate and put people off, which could ultimately do him some good in making his points.
So lie & then vote how you want. No one will know.
There are very few real “undecided” voters - just people embarrassed to admit to supporting either candidate.
