Maybe, I wouldn’t know. This is my first election, since I became a naturalized citizen in 2013 and so I’ve been excitedly waiting for this one. However, given the lackluster choice between our two major candidates, I have to pass and vote 3rd party. If Trump wins, then that’s on Hillary and the DNC, not disenchanted

The desperation is a little palpable. I mean, if they got some white guy who spoke Hindi and thought that it was enough for me to vote for them, I’d burst out laughing.

This is a fair assessment and it’s part of my squeamishness about handing the Presidency to people in the same family. We’ve already had two Bushes. Now two Clintons. It feels a little too House of Cards-ish. Maybe Michelle Obama? Then Jeb Bush? Chelsea Clinton takes a shot at it in 20 years or so?

Nader didn’t cost Gore the 2000 election. Gore did it himself. He lost his home state and there were plenty of registered Democrats who voted across party lines for W in Florida. No one is guaranteed anyone’s vote, registered D/R voter or not - candidates need to do their party to earn them.

I am really glad to see your post because it echoes with how I feel. Part of it is probably because I was raised in India and we’d had a woman Prime Minister even before I was born. And a woman President afterwards. So the whole “my daughter will grow up knowing she can be anything, even President” seems a bit
