$3k for a car that’ll easily go another 200k miles, sure. GM builds crappy interiors, but the engines really aren’t that bad.

LS6 in the C5Z, IIRC.
I have never and will likely never buy new. I always buy used off of Craigslist or Autotrader. I honestly can’t imagine any situation that would make me want to eat depreciation on a new car.
Top Fuel Dragsters do 0-100 mph in roughly 0.8 seconds, for comparison.
Well, you’ve successfully convinced me never to buy an Impala. Yikes!
Replace the head unit with a nice Pioneer or Kenwood. They make kits for almost every car imaginable that isn’t a Tesla.
All of my BMWs have had the soft orange LED glow from the ceiling. I love it at night because it is 100% unobtrusive but it lets you or your passengers see your hand to work AC/radio controls.
Literally at all times, that’s what it’s there for. I only take my head off of it to check lanes or look around corners.
It STRONGLY reminds me of my E36 MT coupe, which was just about the most pure driving experience imaginable short of my Miatas, which were a weeeeeeee bit less comfortable.
MT wagon? SWEET!
A-freakin’-men to that! I love older BMW’s all-soft-orange gauges/lights. Nothing in my interior distracts me at night (and my phone lives in my pocket at all times), so I can focus 100% on what’s in front of me. The self-dimming side/center mirrors are a gift from the German gods too. Combined with very impressive…
I need one too. I went on a 6+ month search to find a 128i without iDrive, and it was WORTH IT! I love the simplicity and how unobtrusive it is at night.
My coworker has a brand new CR-V (naturally, in silver). It’s a perfectly functional car, reliable, comfortable, and forgettable. Honestly the CR-V might be the best Meh car possible. You can hardly remember being in it other than having been somewhere else a few minutes ago and riding in something in between.
Remember, “Meh” doesn’t mean “Bad”, usually quite the opposite. They were perfectly functional cars, just less exciting than warm yogurt.
My MIL has 290k on her 05 Taurus and it still kicks. I had to replace the entire power steering system last year (rack, pump, HP lines, etc) to the tune of ~$350, but it’s probably good for another 290k now. Drive it til it’s on fire!
This makes me glad I exclusively buy my vehicles on AutoTrader/Craigslist. To hell with new car prices, gimmie a pre-depreciated dealership-free whip any day!
It’s the worst thing to happen to Tampa since BADRAP. I wonder if TR is blowing up over it.
Neat idea, but it would never work because of how Mustangs take traffic circles.
As a lifelong gearhead who has never been to a mechanic, the one and only one thing I don’t have the machine for (yet) is tire mounting/balancing, so I go to my local Discount Tire. They’re always super polite, offer me coffee and snack bars, and I chill at the window and watch them work. As someone who naturally…
