What Nintendo is doing is not censorship. It’s content curation that they’re entitled to do on THEIR product. They’re not curtailing anyone’s speech.

Patrick, this is a great article. I was watching this thing unfold from NeoGAF and had no idea what was happening or why. I heard about the infamous college paper, but felt that since it was on her LinkedIn, it was more of a nonsequitor.

This article was awesome. Don’t have much more to say.

Say what you want about George Clooney, but if he were there, he definitely would have done something:

For the love of all that’s holy and unholy, avoid the comment sections on Facebook & Youtube. Masculinity so fragile.

It provides for taking a number of different characters and saying, ‘I would like to have a female version.’

Maybe they were just trying to give girls a realistic look at what it’s like to be a woman in a STEM field. They did a pretty good job in that regard!

Not thinking she’s the best transgender role model, with her republican politics and whatnot, is transphobia? Okay....

i mean

1.) You forgot Pikachu, since Yellow is being released as well.

I believe pretty strongly in giving proper spoiler warnings for, say, details of a story, but we’re talking about the names of video games here.

Lol, I don’t give a fuck about your “support.” You’re just another moron in the sea of white male assholes.

To me, what it comes down to is this:

Lots of people aren’t willing to understand that men can be victims of abuse. A lot of them aren’t even really terrible people, but society as a whole doesn’t let men be weak so they are just saying what they’ve learned. Sometimes the perspective shift is enough to make people go “wait, this is fucked up”.

The advise is exactly the same either way so not sure what was gained by flipping the genders.

It’s toxic masculinity at its worst. People think that he’s a weak victim who deserves what he’s getting because he’s weak and not masculine enough. We don’t let men have any weakness.

Sadly, few people will look at this from that perspective. If this were a woman with an abusive boyfriend, everyone would be up in arms about it and expressing sympathy. Instead, we have some people here who are questioning the writer’s manhood, calling him stupid, saying that he deserves this to happen to him, etc.

I like to imagine he typed that on a laptop placed on the floor while he was doing one handed push-ups in front of a mirror.

you need to alpha up your beta game

Hey Kirk, remember when I was laying odds on how quick we were gonna get this comment?
