It seems like most fashion trends favor the long-legged. I’ve got the whole long torso/short legs thing going on too, and the only pants that really seem to flatter me are those with a flare leg or decent bootcut. As a fun aside, I generally have to buy tall length shirts and short or petite length pants. Bodies are

That sounds exactly like the Shirley I met. :)

No, but I also don’t want MS either. My dad and his sister both had primary progressive MS and were wheelchair bound by age 50, which means I have a high genetic predisposition. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to developing MS, and sunlight is the best way your body can absorb vitamin D. I take supplements, but I

Word. I live in perpetually overcast Ohio, where winter lasts about six months. I work in a basement, which means during the week I’m exposed to very minimal sunlight. I take vitamin D supplements at the recommendation of my doctor and my late father’s neurologist-both he and his sister had primary progressive MS, and

AWWWW! She’s so great. I met Garbage in ‘99 and was floored by how kind and down-to-earth all of them were. They truly appreciate their fans. I have a slightly strange name, the kind that makes most people go “huh?” when I introduce myself, and I remember Shirley remarked that it’s not that uncommon in Scotland. :)

Get thee to Amazon right away and start downloading (I’m an old, I don’t do streaming). At the very least start digging through You Tube videos. Their music is great, her voice is amazing, and she’s always been such a great role model for women.

Garbage and NIN are two of the few bands I’ve devotedly followed since high school. “Number One Crush” was me and my then boyfriend/now husband’s favorite song.

Ugh, obviously I mean’t their music never disappoints. It’s 95 here with 70+ humidity, my brain is starting to lock up.

That last sentence is my life right now.

Their music never fails to disappoint. And one of the things I love about seeing them live is that Garbage fans are always so great. I’ve never run into a belligerent drunk at a Garbage show, just open-minded, friendly people.

My husband and I are lifelong Garbage fans; it’s one of the things we bonded over when we first started dating. We were lucky enough to meet Shirley in 1999, and she couldn’t have been more lovely and kind. She’s always been my personal goddess, and as a teen she was a breath of fresh air for geeky goth girl who was su

All the stars to you, my fellow Deadwood-loving friend.

My husband saw this promo first, and was like, “Ok, we have to watch this.”

I’ve always been 99% sure I didn’t want kids, but I knew I was 100% sure when I learned I needed a hysterectomy (huge fibroids that were causing multiple issues and would more than likely return if I didn’t get rid of that damn uterus). The second my doctor told me I needed to get rid of that organ, my brain went “YES!

Meanwhile I have coworkers who feel the need to stay home when their 15 year old has a cold (probably just an excuse to take a sick day TBH).

Most of the helicopter parents I know won’t even let their 13-year-olds be at home alone for a few hours; being responsible for another kid would definitely be out of the question. When I was a kid in the ‘80s I was home alone every day for at least three hours starting at the age of 10.

Killing Eve is so fucking good (and so is the music). Why aren’t more people talking about it?

Preach. It makes me look dead. I’ve only seen a handful of people who look good with that color.

My then boyfriend/now husband was a dead ringer for A.J. in high school, even had the same haircut. We still celebrate Rex Manning Day every year.

You’re so right. I’ve always been jealous of the eyeshadow and lipstick shades that women of color can pull off. I would love to wear all those crazy brights but I have “always needs the lightest shade of foundation” skin and I end up looking like a six year old that found her mom’s makeup kit.
