We had a poltergeist in the house I grew up in, but it was never scary, just aggravating. Between the two of us, my mother and I had so many singleton earrings that at one point we thought about getting them together, having them broken down and made into a brooch, and sharing the brooch.

For my birthday my husband got me a hobby box that every month sends you stuff to try out new hobbies and a few instructions. This month’s was watercolor. I do acrylic painting but never really tried watercolor outside of grade school. There were my first two attempts.

This week we hired the adoption attorney to finally begin the process of adopting my daughter back from my parents. They adopted her when I was in active addiction and for a long time they acted like they were never going to allow me to have her back. I heart Fiona and follow her on the twitters! J’adore the little tiger baby the San Diego zoo has! He was being smuggled, and the smugglers got caught and sweetie pie went there, for now. The video of him burping after a bottle is priceless.

Spent this gloomy fall day making pasties with my son. Sheela the Irish Wolfhound is again in deep disgrace for snatching several off the counter. The fact that they were blazing hot and fresh out of the oven did not stop her one bit.
