JRPGs are about feeling, not country of origin. If it feels like a JRPG, it's a JRPG.

They clearly state that those images are concept art. 2D illustrations to nail the visual style. I think the actual game is going to be 3d on 2d plane. They showed some 3d animations.

Didn't anybody go to kickstarter page? It says right there it's going to be a 3D game with a 2D gameplay. Kinda like DuckTales.
