Please correct the article. Apple wasn’t misleading. They were lying. Epic specifically stated in that letter that they wanted it made available to everyone. It is “misleading” to call it “misleading” since it was actually a lie.

The harm is coming from Apple, not Epic.  Apple dragged the others into this fight.  And the other companies that have said anything have supported Epic.

I don’t think other publishers that have offered next-gen upgrades for free are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts; I think they felt the best business decision was to offer the upgrade to drive sales of current games (and their DLC) now, as the specter of the new consoles in the fall threatens current game…
