Nope, but it would have spread radioactive particles that likely would have caused damage to life in the vicinity. Really in the end its those that will kill things, if all we got from these bombs was weird weather then we’d be using them on ourselves today!

Seems quite clear the real fault is in the battery cells shorting out between each other, anyone who knows much about Lithium Ions knows how dangerous that is. Samsung really needs to go back to the Lithium school drawing board on this one! Its a shame as no doubt the device itself is just dandy (minus battery).
