I was in a group where the dm had this set idea for the narrative stuck in his head, and inevitably every third or fourth session would be this exposition heavy on rails mess where we didn't have choices so that he could try and get a handle on the narrative.

with the caveat that those games you listed will eventually shut servers down, maps you paid for won't be playable, or later consoles(or Windows releases) will render the games unplayable. I'm enjoying all my options, don't regret my PS4 purchase in the slightest, having fun with the Indies (Mercenary Kings is great, can't wait for Pier Solar), I have a massive backlog on Steam and my PS3 to pick at in between next gen releases- it's a good time to be a gamer, regardless of platform.

Melee classes are loads more fun on console with a pad, none of the confused micro-pathing when trying to reposition out of bad on the ground in fight. Just proper movement on the stick.
