ive been calling him ket shee since shortly after the game came out. my brother looked up how to pronounce it and made fun of me when i pronounced it wrong.

There is always someone complaining about this in the comments. I get it, but I’d rather have this quirky and personal touch than all the articles using the same standard character images everyone else uses, even if it’s not “my” V (my V is a refined lady with a mohawk and gigantic boots, thank you very much).

UGLY?!

Calling a sphynx cat ugly is the fastest way to get sent to camp.

Yes, in a game with a photo mode which entire purpose is to make screenshots the author of the article uses it to make screenshots.

First question. Why is the gameplays primary perspective being first-person at all relevant to anything here?

Probably for damn good reason.  This whole comment thread strikes me as one of the dumber things I’ve seen on Kotaku, and that’s saying a lot...

I listen to the soundtrack all the time. I think a lot of Cyberpunk hate comes from people who simply don’t like the setting and aesthetic. Sometimes Witcher 3 gets brought up for it’s interesting quests. However, few of them resonated with me, the most noteable exception being the Bloody Baron. However, that’s likely

Another software developer chiming in.

I’m not commenting on how much work it is, because I have no idea. But someone did make a competing mod, it’s mentioned in the article:

I have no issue with them charging extra for a specific version of their mod, provided they accept the legal risks involved in doing so.

Hey Kenneth, please only ever use pictures of your in game avatars for every article to annoy all these weirdos that hate it for some reason.

His V is him made in the game.
While I think that’s boring--people’s comments are less than kind about it in some insulting ways. Ways that are easy to take personally when your avatar is modelled after yourself.

Oh absolutely. And I’m not advocating that Bethesda shouldn’t do better, just because modders are there to pick up the slack.
They should, and they need to - I agree 100% that it breaks down in late game.

Yeah it's weird. Mainly in lockers.

I’ve put about 100 hours into it so far and I’m struggling to maintain my enthusiasm. The biggest issue is that BGS basically ruined the appeal of exploration. Running 1000m between POIs on a barren planet where there’s nothing interesting to see or do gets old real quick. Then the POIs themselves are heavily reused.

Surprisingly, my experience in Starfield has been pretty free of bugs. There’s one quirk when navigating menus, where back button presses don’t always register. That’s the only one I can really even think of, and it’s pretty tame. I am looking forward to the quality of life updates though. There’s absolutely room for

Nah, there’s a million ways to make money.

That’s fair. The fact that Starfield launched without DLSS, HDR support (on PC), FoV sliders, 32:9 support, etc, just makes the wait more aggravating. That stuff really should have been implemented before launch.

Starfield’s now been out for almost a month, and the lack of more major updates is certainly striking in contrast to recent blockbuster RPGs like Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3.
