You know it’s almost like they should have had this meeting before they fired him instead of making a knee-jerk reaction based on the work of a few Twitter trolls.
Way to kill off a lot of the goodwill built up for Marvel, while simultaneously illustrating why Disney being in charge of everything maybe isn’t such a great idea. But nice job capitulating, Horne.
Same here. His vision and handling of the characters and story is so distinct, 3 can’t help but end up being a big series of “what ifs?’ on the screen.
Exactly. There’s a very big reason why Gunn was seemingly being groomed to be the Russos of the space side of things. He’s the guy who made a talking tree and raccoon some of the most beloved characters in current pop culture history. He’s the guy who laid the groundwork for a lot of things we’ve taken for granted. If…
Lord knows I’ll follow him to whatever his next project is.
Go and do something awesome for WB/DC, James.
Sounds like an ego thing to me.
I wonder what Cernovich & Co. have on Horne. I bet it’s really good for him to be acting this stupid.
Hiring Taika Waititi could probably win over most of the crowd, but you’re definitely right about all the navel-gazing articles. Same thing happened with the first Ant-man and Edgar Wright.
Honestly, I would only be happy with someone who actually had Gunn’s stamp of approval, official or unofficial as that may be. That’s asking for a lot I’m sure, but this has left such a foul taste in my mouth that anything else will all but ensure I won’t watch the movie. Without that, anyone who comes in will also be…
Lost a bit of respect there.
So Variety is reporting something that isn’t too surprising, that Disney/Horn is standing by their decision to fire Gunn from Guardians Vol. 3.
Oh I am not saying the FBI shouldn’t be monitoring these people - just in case - that is their job. I am saying why the fork is the media wasting any time three months before an election on what most people agree is a small collection of loons. Its a bigger problem then just Qanon - see Omerosa for a further example…
I feel like there’s more than a little crossover in this particular instance, unfortunately. They’re a fringe group of crazies obviously falling for an elaborate 4Chan prank, but they’ve also already started to escalate their actions. The Cracked video towards the end does a great job at pointing out how we really…
I have a lot of respect for journalists, but lately a lot of balls have been dropped with individuals more concerned with the surface level of events, and not bothering to dig deeper. Not just on this subject, of course.
From the PageSix article:
From what I can tell, everything that they could have been worried about when dealing with the DOJ is done and over with. If anyone else knows more about that, please chime in.
I was going to pass along this one, but it sounds like the same event:
It looks like Chris Pratt has a bit more to say on the James Gunn firing. Pratt talked about it a bit after being asked at a Michelob sponsoring disabled athletes. Interestingly, this seems to have gotten far more coverage than the crap that Breitbart tried to pull earlier in the week.
