I mean, especially if you are buying used, I would steer people away from the Taco and 4Runner because you can get much more vehicle for the same price by NOT going with the Toyota’s. I don’t truly believe they are worth the premium on them.

I got so many downvotes for calling out a redditor’s opinion that a new Tacoma would be the best “forever car”....one of their big counterpoints was “it has great resale value”....what does resale matter if you are keeping the car forever?!?!?!

So that works out to ~$2000 over 3 years, or around $55/mo for the tune and the “extra” gas cost, for a sizeable chunk of power and entertainment, AND maintain the factory warranty...I’m not seeing the downside here...

The commenters on /Drive seem especially dumb...

Increased power doesn’t necessarily mean decrease in efficiency...in theory, the increased power could lead to less power (and fuel) being needed to sustain speed.

Is there a section I missed where it says reduced fuel economy? Likely it’ll only get worse fuel economy if you keep your foot in it, and stay in the boost.

God it’s nice to be back at Jalopnik...God forbid you say ANYTHING against a Toyota product, especially the Taco or 4Runner...you have the wrath of 100 Redditors explaining about how your opinion is wrong.

Another $7 per tank! Oh the humanity!!

A rear engined V8, FWD, French roadster, with dangerous handling?

I’m confused...the Excursion is 3/4 ton already...why do you have to use the cab of a separate vehicle?

So you can, so you can see?

All for some good hard mall parking

I’ve had quite a bit of seat time in both, and the Fusion is severely hampered by torque management. The Mazda6 juts feels more direct and snappier.

I’m not sure if anyone has ever thrown a newer Mazda6 on a dyno, but they feel more powerful than their ~180 rated HP. Dude I know has a Fusion 2.0T and a Mazda6 with the base NA 2.5, and he’ll swear up and down that at a stop light, the Mazda will smoke the Fusion.

Sometimes I can’t get my GTI’s button to line up right, and it makes me very angry...I don’t know if the notch is just a bit off, or I’m just a bit off myself...

This is an impossibly bad take

You actually CAN’T do that, it’s against the law. Try again

A good steak, IMO, shouldn’t need more seasoning than S&P. Cook it over a nice charcoal grill, flavor country. Let the meat do the talking. Or if you’re north, and it’s winter; sous vide, and finish the steak off in a skillet with some herb butter.
