My point being, there are WAY more factors at play than just the rotor diameter

Rotor diameter is only one part of the equation for braking efficiency. Rotor thickness, actual swept area, pad surface area all play a large factor.

Yeah, lunging outside of the base path is totally cool.

I showed up late, but my friends did a “Noon-years Eve” bar crawl through Woodfield. Started at Rainforest Cafe and went to such fine establishments as PF Chang’s and Red Robin as part of the crawl. It didn’t seem like they were ever really “welcome” wherever they went.

I mean...there are a lot people in this thread saying, take out valve stem cores, put pebbles in the valve stem, or some other means of airing down the tires. I thought the point was to get this car off your property as soon as possible, not get it stuck there for longer...

The dog came with the girl, I didn’t have much of a choice

My big issue is the dog crate, which is large and doesn’t fit in the car or in a roof box. Maybe the wife and I also just need to pack lighter...because even without the dog, we nearly fill up the entire car

Up here in the rust belt, they’ve mostly returned to the earth

I had a similar vintage S70 AWD...and honestly, it was not worse than any other car (price wise) to fix or get parts for. As long as this is just the FWD version, I would have no hesitation...they are generally fairly reliable and are easy to work on. NP all day

A lot to ask for an R variant. But even just throwing the non-PP 2.oT from the GTI at the Alltrack or even the Sportwagen would’ve instantly changed my mind from the GTI I eventually got.

My buddies Sportwagen had panoramic roof leak issues...dealership wanted an absurd amount of money to fix it. Additionally, both his rear coil springs broke just outside of his warranty period...My MK7 GTI does not have a sunroof. It’s got the halogen lights, BUT, I’ve actually found them to be very good. I’ve had

Exactly what happened to me. I went in wanting a white Alltrack, with Marrakesh brown interior, and a 6-speed manual. Eventually got a base GTI. I do find myself needing the extra room, especially on road trips. The Alltrack was just too slow. APR could’ve helped a bit, but the car just wasn’t lively enough. I feel

We live in Chicago, and my in-laws live in Detroit, and they almost exclusively take The Wolverine out to us for some reason (won’t fly and don’t like driving). My wife grew up taking Amtrak across the whole country because they didn’t fly. It boggled my mind.

If people REALLY wanted to see the aliens, they should try and find and invade the underground base near Dulce, NM

The other problem with train travel, is there’s really only 2 areas that would largely benefit from a high speed rail line. Like the OP said, the east and west coasts, and it’s basically one line a piece...Straight up and straight down. It’s not like Europe, where you go between countries. How much of a market is

I’d rather see more investment into roads and bridges, that are literally crumbling. More investment in fiber optics for communications. Expand our comms and wireless networks. You know, bring the country into the 21st century.

No one rides the train we have today...Americans don’t like trains. The amount of money that Amtrak is subsidized it stupid.

If anything we’re running out of pilots, not planes

I feel like, on that iPace, if the wheels were upsized, they’d look better. We’ve just been conditioned to see tall sidewalls, on cars, as bad. I really should just get steelies for my GTI, I know I’ll be getting a set for winter, but why not run them year round.

Having spent considerable time in both Chicago and Detroit, I would say they are very similar in terms of road conditions.
