This is a great plan if buying new. That’s one of the main issues with car affordability right now: all the manufacturers are building premium/limited trims with their reduced inventory to make the most buck possible off folks.

he is now wealthy, so I am sure he doesn’t buy used cars anymore”

The price needs to be negotiated first outside of any discussion on financing vs. cash. If they don’t want to do that, then tell them to stuff it and find another dealer.

Correct, but people need to have a better handle on what is “within” their budget. Spending 20% of your take home pay on just the car payment, without including insurance or gas or maintenance... is stupid. And that’s what people are doing these days, even with 72 and 84 month installment lengths. Wild.

Where he goes off the rails with his mostly sound advice (because, much if it is not sound) is when he verbally assaults people and diminishes them for their decisions. The answer is never “you are an idiot, and a fool, do this...,” it’s “this is a bad situation, and I feel for you, but this is something you are going

Not a full segment on him, but he blasted him for his work with Timeshare Exit Team on this one.

The best thing to do with Ramsey is read the baby steps, take it to heart and work toward them, and then never come back. Best thing a person can do.

I always pay cash for cars. But then again, I’m not buying $40, 50... 72K cars. I also have no mortgage... fully paid home.

500k is high net worth now?”

To be fair, if you did look into it, he gave them the kit for free. It cost nothing to participate once you have the kit. (I did the FPU kit way back in the day).

Yeah, lets recommend a secondhand WRX that has an FMIC, large (loud) exhaust, and which was likely tuned to an inch of its life with a crappy off the shelf tune from Cobb.
