I am so sick of this “women can’t be rational because girly parts” BS. If there is one sex organ that is synonymous with irrationality and bad decision making, it is, by far, the penis.

I have a friend (really) and every time she says she’s voting for Trump I counter with “will your (fed) probation officer allow it?” (only when it’s a small group that we’ve known forever)

“I’m so sorry you all were offended by what I said” is not an apology.

One of my coworkers talks about her breast cancer, which was DCIS. She went for months of chemo, on top of surgery (which resulted in an infection that nearly killed her), was out on disability for nearly six months. So she was one of those who probably suffered a lot more due to aggressive treatment.

Yeah, not gonna lie: that’s an area where I think most physicians are in general fairly weak. I’m a rigorous defender of medicine on this board, but I know for a fact that most physicians and surgeons are fairly weak in statistical theory. And I don’t blame them, given that statistics takes years to really understand.

We also need a helluva lot more awareness of what cancer actually is. You can’t blame people for flipping out and wanting to schedule all the treatments RIGHT NOW when they hear that diagnosis, but cancer is a huge umbrella term covering multiple different kinds of growths, etc. Surgery can definitely be far more

classic story. Every one knows a woman whose “life was saved by a mammogram because cancer was caught early.” The problem is we often don’t know that at all Recent study on DCIS, the most common type of early cancer picked up by mammogram in young women showed NO BENEFIT TO TREATMENT. That’s right, with that type of

@prickamcdick: “...if you dig deep enough, you’ll find something to be upset about.”

I don’t think it’s necessary or proper for a bill to explain why an ethnic slur is inappropriate as a school or team name, or explain why it is distinct from names that are not ethnic slurs. One of these things is not like the others. Blatantly.

As a Washington Team-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named football fan, i say change it. Just pick a better name than the Washington Wizards….god thats awful.

I was with it until this:

I did some work with Kevin Krim through a partnership our two media companies had. We had a group dinner one night not long before this horrific event, and he was sitting across from me talking proudly about his three kids and how crazy/fun it was to raise them in NYC.

It gives me a lot of happiness that these two are still together and seem to be loving and close to their living children. So often stories that start out this horrific only lead to divorce and fucked up survivors.

The state does bring criminal charges. But they can’t do anything, most of the time, if the victim doesn’t testify.

This is not the way to encourage people to testify. I don’t think the victim should have been held in contempt. No wonder she struggled to testify. Abuse victims are frequently in the position of having to move, change jobs, and completely start their life over. It should not be surprising that depression and anxiety

My daughter’s got a digestive disorder where she can’t properly process food. She had to be hospitalized last month to get a feeding tube in for a couple of weeks. I mentioned that she was in the hospital and what for ... and one of my friends said “Wow she can’t gain weight what a great superpower!”

Can someone say this to my mother? She loves it when I lose weight even though she knows it is due to a long term debilitating condition and skinny me means I’ve been doing poorly.

I WILL BE THIS FRIEND!!! Isn’t “don’t comment on anyone’s weight ever” already a rule? Because if it’s not then it should be.
