To be fair, that was probably more about the rural area than it was about Macy’s. I work for Macy’s and they make a real effort to oppose racism, homophobia, etc. Also the store I work in is in a city and many of the people who work there are black and/or Hispanic. I haven’t heard any racist comments at all.

This behavior was not considered innocent in the first place. Your sympathy for this guy is unreal. His behavior towards his grandchildren would have been unacceptable even 50 years ago. Especially since they are his relatives! People would have talked about him in hushed tones as “that creepy guy” and told their kids…

Yeah, no. They happened but weren’t considered “unthreatening.” Kids just didn’t realize that they had any choice to not be patted and groped. It wasn’t considered acceptable even a generation ago but people were afraid to say anything about it.

I have always found that jingle annoying but not to the point where I would bother to make formal complaints about it.

Who cares? Maybe they read one of the many, many articles about how to motivate yourself to work out more by purchasing attractive new workout clothes. I think of doing this much of the time myself.
