That's why I was talking about slices of pie. Of course there are a finite number of jobs, but when the people hiring for those jobs are overwhelmingly white and male, sometimes you need to goose the system a bit in the name of fairness. Even you reference good ol' boy clubs, which is how business was run in this

But who are you to say that all those minorities getting jobs due to affirmative action aren't qualified? OK, your grandfather had to hire some black guys and a bunch were lazy. That's purely anecdotal, and clearly you're not unbiased on this issue so I'm not sure how much stock I can put in what you say. The bottom

You make it sound as if white people never get any scholarships. Every single white person is scaling a sheer cliff face, because they NEVER have any advantages. Right. Do know why those scholarships for minorities and women exist? Because if they didn't, white males would get an even more disproportionate amount of

Look, I don't think you're a bad guy. You've been dealt a shitty hand, and I feel for you, I absolutely do. Nobody should have to live in chronic pain, and I wouldn't wish the frustrations you've dealt with on anyone. But you strike me as a fairly bright dude, so I have to throw this at you. You believe you've had a

There's so many people bitching about affirmative action, or black/hispanic/female only scholarships, and how it's all unfair to white guys. But here's the thing: giving someone else a leg up via these means does not equate to knocking you down a few rungs. There's plenty of room at the top for everyone. The very

I could see your point if this was one of those "Sponsored" spots that the Gawker empire does from time to time. As far as I know neither Kirk nor Kotaku was paid for this post. They were probably given a free review copy of the game, but that's marketing only in the most basic sense. No publisher is guaranteed

I love Tyrion as a character (and Dinklage's portrayal of him) as much as anyone, but I honestly don't see how you could fit him into the game, at least as a playable character. It would have been nice to have him show up to deliver some quests or some context, however. More Tyrion is always better than less (or none).

The game, by all accounts, is not very good. However, people with an affinity for the franchise might find some enjoyment in it, solely because they enjoy the source material so much. He's not saying "don't buy it if you don't watch the TV show". He's saying "Only really big fans of the source material will enjoy this

That's what I can't figure out. These pharmacists are presumably hired because they are qualified and educated and able to perform a specific job. If their religious beliefs compromise their ability to perform their LEGAL job duties, well they need to get into another line of work. We shouldn't be enacting legislation

Ms. George's 2 hits automatically make her the front runner to be the Pirate's All Star representative.

That's good.

Nice.

Fine stayed committed to the Harron narrative by tracking down the great grandsons of the men who built the castle and hiring 50 of them to apply her makeup.

Fantastic.

I don't find myself in agreement with you that often, but I'm with you on this whole thing.
