Genuinely curious: What other word would be preferable? To me, “workers” means “people who work.” I don’t necessarily think there’s any implication of wages there. Obviously, the work done by slaves wasn’t done by their choice, but they were primarily (forcibly) brought over to (forcibly) work.

Mass shootings occur everywhere...in some regions and cultures they prefer bombs. These are heart issues and early intervention and changes to mental health protocols and counseling regulations should be looked at...addressing gun laws isn’t going to help someones heart.

Why would you blame gun laws? The guy was mentally ill. He, his mother and his counselor/Dr./Priest/Pastor should have the support and freedom to intervene and provide help. This is a heart issue, not an issue about guns.
