Can I randomly use “e-cool!” if I attribute it to you?

I don’t typically get invested in celebrities’ kids, but I feel like I’m watching the probability of this kid having an emotionally healthy adult life drop precipitously.
Agreed. There’s a bit of police propaganda, but then again, there have been plenty of episodes where dirty cops have actually been brought to justice. How often does that happen in the real world? (Answer: Never.) I’ve always thought that the L&O universe held such an enduring appeal precisely because the bad guys get…
So the “man on the street” interviews weren’t actually eye witnesses, but people just watching the YouTube video? Oh, local news.
Ha, I misread it the same way. I think I’ve been seeing so many “guilt by association” complaints lately (“Just because all my best friends are neo-Nazis doesn’t mean I’m a neo-Nazi!”) that I just assumed it was another one of those.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there a tax element to Aunt Becky’s case, too? Like she deducted the bribe or something? I may be misremembering, but that could be bad. As my dad is fond of saying, if you kill somebody, you might get away with it, but if you try to stiff the IRS, you’re going to jail.
Anybody else immediately think of the scene in Vida when the younger sister pees in a piece of art?
The jobs that can be done by robots are being done, and there are many jobs that will likely never be done by machines. (They require intricate manual dexterity, etc.)
That raised my eyebrow as well. Guilty by association with...himself? His own actions? It’s a sad day when people are judged based on their own behavior. So unfair!
Yeah, I really don’t understand why she deserved to get dragged so hard for a silly social media post about washing her face, especially when other people are spon-conning all matter of problematic/dangerous shit.
Hard agree. Beyond fluff pieces, her attempts at psuedo-satire or whatever this is trying to be tend to fall apart, often because of failed hot-take-try-too-hard-faux-intellectualism. The fact that she’s Twittering about how nobody gets her is just the icing on the cake. Chances are good that if everybody says you…
Regarding the Steelers, yeah. I can’t get invested in them for the obvious reason, but when I was a wee lad in the 70s and they were winning everything, it was a big bonding thing with my dad. As an old, I know it’s easy to have rose-colored glasses about the past, and there’s a decent chance not all those guys were…
Sure, be snarky, but they’re going to synergystically productize racism both in actual space and virtual space.
The Democratic version of “LOCK HER UP!” should henceforth be “SECRET MEETINGS WITH THE TALIBAN ON 9/11!” That should be the answer to every question, screamed in Trump’s face during every debate. (Half sarcastic, half not.)
Geez, couldn’t she have paid someone to write a better letter for her?
That’s not what they’re saying, though. What’s missing in this article is that WalMart is saying that if people have permits to legally conceal carry, they can continue to do that. Concealed carrying without a permit is illegal*, and WalMart would be pretty foolish to tell their customers to break the law.
I’d be the last one to defend WalMart, but this article is a bit oversimplified on at least one point: They aren’t asking their customers to conceal their weapons—they’re saying that people who are already legally permitted to carry concealed weapons can continue to do so, while people who open carry because their…
I’d like to think that God, if they are real, has some amazing multi-dimensional genitalia that we humans couldn’t even comprehend.
He’s just taking a page out of Dubya’s playbook, who if I remember right, was strumming a guitar and grinning up a storm (pun intended) when Katrina was destroying everything in its path (and his country club buddy/horse groomer was the head of FEMA). I’d look it up, but it probably didn’t even cause a dip in his…
I’m assuming (possibly incorrectly) that his loss of vision and hearing were gradual, not all at once. I get that his diet might have slipped through the cracks, but how did nobody notice the fact that he was losing both his sight and hearing?
