At this point, people are RARELY tipping because the server was just soooo amazing. I almost never have a server who is AMAZZIIINNNNG. They are generally fine, but nothing special. I tip because I know they have no chance of being paid fairly if I don't.

No one thinks anyone is an asshole for believing that. Lots of us believe that. It's just assholey when someone uses that belief as an excuse not to tip under our current system.
