I actually think an adaptation based on Reza Aslan’s book Zealot: the Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth would be super interesting (and that book is also really interesting, even to someone like me, who is destined to burn forever in the lake of fire).

There was a short-lived show called “Kings” that was the story of David in an alt-history present. Ian McShane was the King Saul. Sebastian Stan was the Jonathan. Goliath was a literal tank.

They’ll probably kill this show too. It'll be back a couple days later.

There’s also the attempt up top to lump a few Marvel movies that aren’t really “Multiverse” - I get that noone really saw The Eternals, don’t blame them, it wasn’t a good movie. But a multiverse movie? Other than the fact that it’s likely that the only Marvel movie to reference the events was Spider Man and Sony’s

I’m still hoping for the little known, but legendary in some circles, sequel script Doctor Detroit and the Multiverse of Mom to be dusted off and finally produced.

Doctor Doom And The Multiverse Of Madness (Marvel)

I was about to protest that this already existed:

Dude, try switching to decaf.

I’m glad this list went back as far as it did, and there are one or two I hadn’t heard of, so something to explore =) But I will say I’m disappointed Metropolis isn’t mentioned — seems like that is a pretty iconic film due in no small part to its (ground breaking?) effects ...

Yeah, “Tron” deserves an entry of its own. Another overlooked gem is “The Last Starfighter,” the first film to use CGI for all of what would have been traditional miniature shots. Granted, the effects don’t hold up 39 years on, but they were dazzling at the time.

I must say this is the finest obituary I’ve seen written here in sometime. Nobody was a Jabroni. Props.

Am I a supernerd for thinking this doesn’t even rate as supernerd pedantry?

RIP Sheik, you were an all time great. FUCK THE HULK HOGAN.

Well, this is FAHKING BULL-SHIT!!!!

They just need to lean into it and hire Huey Lewis to voice Pesto.

The fact that the piece is dripping with hate-snark clued me into how interested in the setting they are.

I’m wondering who they thought said “the line” in Andor, though...

So what you’re saying is that the conventional story about Montañez is burying the lead -- he didn’t just create a snack but also the time travel needed to make his story work!

Castle Rock was so good and it sucks so bad that it was cancelled.

You’re right; that is definitely a ridiculous reason.  Trailers were everywhere you’d expect trailers to be, for quite a long time now.
