@imspecial: Most companies aim at causing this illusion where the consumers are paying less for an expensive product. Like with expensive smartphones, they subsidize the price and make up for it over long term contracts. This is how they manage to market an expensive product as cheap. @mjt308: I'm in India, and I'm 13, yet several of my friends own iPads, which they've imported. There are loads of people who want iPhones and iPads in India, but few ever buy them as they are usually at the end of their product cycle by the time they are released.
