But I don’t think the two have to be mutually exclusive. I come from a law-enforcement family. So yes, I can 100% empathize with how hard it is to be a cop, how much we worry etc.

But I am human. And I can 100% sympathize with how the black community must feel.

This. So this. I’m a mom. I get that your life doesn’t need to totally stop when you have kids.

What about, I don’t know, common sense? As a parent of a young child, and an owner of dressers (both Ikea and otherwise), years of awful accidents AND common sense had us secure everything to the wall. Amazing, I figured that all out on my very own.

This was my kid. We kept going to our ped begging her to find something wrong. She actually apologized to us, at one point, because his colic was SO bad; “I’m so sorry you guys, this is truly awful’.

It was horrific. And why I will NEVER judge any parent who does WHATEVER (within reason) to get sleep and sanity.

Moral of the story (which I’m sure was what you were trying to get across, right?? RIGHT?) was that we all do what is best for OUR kids and OUR families.

Sleep is learned behavior for kids. However they learn it, they need to. Toddlers and kids with shitty sleep habits have behavior issues, struggle to focus in school,…
