The incidence of injury from Rugby is not even close to football. Not even close. Nice try.

Thanks, Steve!

See, this is where I think you’re wrong. There will be no blindsiding. The defender will not be so anxious to blow up the receiver any longer because the danger will extend to himself. The saftey will now be more interested in either defending the pass or simply wrapping up the player after the catch. Just think about

As horrifying as it sounds—take off the pads and the helmets and be amazed as the number of injuries goes way, way down.

One has to assume that eventually someone was going to prepare for Rousey’s very specific tactics and counter them. I think she successfully scared many of her most previous opponents before the first bell. Holm on the other hand did not look even remotely intimidated and got to work pretty quick. It was an impressive

It will always be idiotic to state that any fighter is without peer. Just stupid. ANYONE can be beat. This isn’t a movie—it’s real life and sometimes you get surprised when you least expect it. When I read the article mentioned here I winced and was like, “Is Rousey a superhero or something?”

Lovie Smith—poster boy for Coaches Who Don’t Understand Clock Management. While he was head coach here in Chicago this guy built up a pretty impressive list of epic fuck-ups at the end of 2nd and 4th quarters. I mean, it was a running joke his last two years in the position that people knew he didn’t get it. Calling

My daughter and I once settled into our seats at an IHOP and waited for our server to appear. Moments later an older woman with obviously too many customers to keep track of appeared, dropped off a coffee pot and menus and said, “I’ll be back to take your order in a second, hon!” Okay, cool. I’m pretty sure I want to

I’m ... I’m not on board. The guy is sliding and yet he still manages to deliver a blow to his head. If he wasn’t aiming it was some amazing physics that made that contact occur. Think about it—you’re able to hit a moving target that is getting even lower to the ground? On accident?

Yes, you’ll have your share of these, but the issue is to put the idea into the player’s minds—if you are shown to have engaged in behavior that leads to another player’s injury you will also suffer. Enough with trying to hurt the other guy!

Buy him lots of dessert apparently.

My favorite thing about Andre Drummond (besides his basketball skills) is the look of perpetual frustration/contempt on his face.

This game was bizarre. I only got the feed in the 4th quarter after my local game ended—but that 15 mins was absurd. Giving up a touchdown after taking the 49-42 lead on that pass-fumble-mid-air scoop and return for a touchdown, I thought, “There’s no way there will be another touchdown in this game. Ooops!”

“Oh, yeah? Well, I got two words for you: Shut the fuck up!”

I have been in a fight. More than I would have cared. Been both the victor and the ass kicked.

So, Björnsson couldn’t punch (no gloves) but McGregor could? Seemed a little unbalanced. Though, I have to assume that the experienced McGregor could likely take Björnsson out in a real fight.

Sad part? This isn’t even remotely a recent thing. Like not even a “in the last 50” years type of thing.

Boy, that payoff was a long time cumming.

It must be some kind of limbo. A technology netherworld where we exist but. A Schrodinger’s Kinja if you will.
