You've got my thought process precisely. :) I'm coming out of left-field with this, but I think it would be a massive win.

There are already quite a few things about this version of Spider-Man that doesn't follow the comic-book canon already. I think having Gwen killed by the Lizard is just fine—it doesn't have to be the Green Goblin. The Sam Raimi Spider-Man films didn't even introduce Gwen until after the Goblin and she didn't die at

I get the impression from the new trailer that Peter doesn't invent the material for the web-shooters, just the delivery mechanism which is more plausible. There are several quick cuts that show him looking at what look like spider webs inside Oscorp.

First, an observation—this trailer looks infinitely more impressive at 1080p and full-screen on a large screen. My reaction to it originally at work and then at home was dramatically different.

Those legs ... wow.

Nice shot of the (a) quinjet at the beginning with a Harrier jet nearby for size comparison. Also, is that a Star Trek shuttlecraft on deck?

Yeah, okay. But when do we get the video game tie-in?

So is a used buyer able to still buy the multiplayer pass component separately? If so, then this constitutes bargain hunting on the consumers part.

Hmmm. That's pretty hardcore. Recourse? Boycott the game.

You have not explained it. How does the pass fit into the equation and what does the player lose during the resale.

Its not the same as your saying at all. I haven't seen any of these enticements cripple a game. But maybe I'm wrong. Please describe exactly how Battlefield 3 is crippled by this practice. I don't know, I don't own the game for other reasons.

Please expand on why its costs them an extra 8 pounds. We need the details in order to fully discuss the situation.

I concur with the entirety of Mike's rant.

But we're talking about a fictional character who travelled across time and space and faced ridiculous odds that Patton could never even dream of. It seems a real waste to have an iconic character like Kirk die a mundane death on an uninhabited planet. His first "death" in the movie was at least heroically charged.

I had the same thought, Koala. Spot on.

I'm really digging the new Spider-Man as lean and lanky—just as it should be. The fire-hydrant Spider-Man from the Raimi films always seemed wrong somehow. He's an acrobat—not a muscle head.

That Alien 3 opening ... I was speechless. That is the epitome of shitting all over the history of a franchise. An uplifting, triumphant ending of the previous film rendered moot. Great going!

I remember standing in a hobby shop when I was a kid and looking for a fighter plane model to build. F-15's. F-14's. F6's. And then there was this wierd box with all these Japanese markings. The plane looked like an F-14, but ... it was wierd. I turned the box over and saw that it could be reconfigured to be

I know, right? I had to stop and re-read that sentence three times to determine if it was brilliant or schlocky. Still haven't made up my mind. :)

:) I bounce around on almost all of the GawkerMedia sites and have learned to keep the audience in mind—I've been burned on cross-scripted stories in the past.
